Thanks to everyone for participating in Light It Up! For National Disability Employment Awareness Month on October 17th.
There was a lot of purple and blue light shone on disability inclusion, including the City of Barrie sign at Heritage Park, and our Empower Simcoe administrative buildings at 39 Fraser Court, Barrie, and 35 West Street, Orillia.
Not be outdone, Empower Simcoe’s amazing Employment Support and Services Coordinators—Sandy Calvert, Debbie Osborn, Claire Lavigne, and Brittany Boyd—brightened the day on October 17th by wearing blue and purple.
This colourful display honours the invaluable contributions of individuals with disabilities to businesses and our communities in Simcoe County. Every day, this dedicated team delivers essential on-the-job training and support, helping individuals of all abilities transition seamlessly into meaningful employment.
Thank you, Sandy, Debbie, Claire and Brittany, for your commitment to fostering a more inclusive and vibrant workforce, showcasing the incredible potential within every person.
Now let’s keep the conversation about disability-inclusive hiring going…because that’s what Light It Up! For NDEAM is meant to do.
