Paul Elliott is a shining example of exceptional customer service, and it’s clear that his work is fueled by a genuine passion to help people. As a friendly cashier at Dollar Tree on Mapleview Drive in Barrie, Paul is always ready to greet you with a warm smile, ask about your day, and ensure you find everything you need.
“I love interacting with the customers and making sure they have everything to brighten their day,” shares Paul. “Being here for them really means the world to me!”
And it’s no surprise that his customers feel the same way.
Just ask Janice, who walks into Dollar Tree in need of a new kitchen mop. “Paul is my absolute favorite! He’s so kind,” beams Janice. “Every time I visit, he makes me feel truly valued.”
While Paul helps her find the perfect mop, she adds, “He always gives me his full attention and makes my shopping experience special.”
With support from Empower Simcoe’s Employment Support Services program, Paul’s journey to meaningful employment is filled with gratitude.
“Having this job means so much to me, especially connecting with customers like Janice,” he reflects. “I’ve also built fantastic relationships with my coworkers.”
Dollar Tree Manager Jessica McIntyre echoes this sentiment, saying, “Paul is simply amazing. From our first meeting, I knew I wanted him on our team. He has such a positive outlook and is eager to do anything you ask him to do.”
In celebration of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Empower Simcoe honours inclusive employers like Dollar Tree and dedicated employees like Paul, who enrich the shopping experience and foster a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere for everyone who walks through their doors.
