April 1 is National Caregiver Day

Honouring the dedication of unpaid caregivers and recognizing their vital role in our communities

April 1st is National Caregiver Day. It’s a time to recognize and honour the incredible, often unseen, contributions of unpaid caregivers. In Canada, over 8 million individuals provide vital care and support to family members, friends, and neighbours who are aging, living with disabilities, or dealing with illness. These caregivers play an essential role not only in improving the quality of life for those they care for but also in strengthening our communities as a whole.

Unpaid caregivers invest significant time, energy, and emotional support, often at the expense of their own well-being. National Caregiver Day highlights the critical role these individuals play and raises awareness of the need to support them in their caregiving journey.
