We have a number of summer employment opportunities available in Community Support Services and Accommodation Services (group homes) in Barrie and Orillia. Students enrolled in a related college or university level program will be considered for these positions. Utilizing the Personal Outcome philosophy, students will provide support services to meet the direct care needs of individuals within our programs. 
Minimum Qualifications:

Students enrolled in the Developmental Services Worker, Child & Youth Worker, Social Service Worker programs or university level program in Nursing, Psychology, Sociology or other closely related fields of student will be considered for these positions. 
Must be returning to school in September
Available to work all shifts, days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, statutory holidays
A valid Class G driver's license is preferred
A criminal record check and vulnerable sector screening is required

The hours of work may require that you are available to work afternoons, evenings, days, overnights and weekends. The positions are available from April to September and offer up to full-time hours of employment.

Youth In Action - Summer Employment

We are recruiting for Youth Workers to assist in our Youth in Action program in Barrie and Orillia.   These positions are full-time from approximately mid-June until August 28th, 2020.  The hourly rate of pay is $16.61.
This program assists high school aged youth with varying abilities to learn social and life skills that will help them transition from high school towards independence. Responsible for leading a small group of teens in a variety of social, recreational and work activities in the community, on a daily basis. 
Minimum Qualifications are:

Completion of secondary school. Enrolled in a post-secondary institution in social services or a related college/university level program;
previous experience working with children and youth;
previous experience in recreation, camping, life guarding or mediator experience is a definite asset;
a valid class G driver's license and reliable transportation is an asset.

General Duties, include, but are not limited to:

Provide personal care occasionally required;
one, three-day, overnight camping trips.

We are one of the largest accredited community living organizations in Ontario providing services through a variety of programs which include; Accommodations Services and Community Support Services in the Barrie and Orillia areas and a variety of programs that support children and families. As an organization we look for individuals who demonstrate initiative, collaboration, resilience and creative problem solving skills. 
We are presently accepting resumes for a full-time contract Administrative Associate/Receptionist position in Orillia. In this position the Administrative Associate/Receptionist will support and provide a safe, welcoming, and helpful reception area for staff, visitors and the people we support by telephone and face to face in accordance with the stated policies and procedures of the agency.  You will provide administrative duties and support to the Supports and Services Managers, Supervisors and staff. This position will work up to 75 hours biweekly from February 24th April 3rd, 2020 with a rate of pay of $21.62 per hour.
Minimum Requirements:

Community college diploma in Office Administration or acceptable equivalency as determined by the employer;
Minimum of 3 years recent full-time work experience in a reception/clerical position, preferably in the social services field; 
Demonstrated knowledge of all Microsoft Office computer applications;
Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills; with ability to remain calm and professional in challenging and stressful situations;
Exceptional team player with willingness to assist staff members from all program areas;
Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage daily priorities to ensure tasks are completed within given deadlines;
Must be able to work some evening hours as needed;
Valid driver's license and own reliable transportation is required;

Duties and Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

Receiving and directing all incoming calls, receiving and directing all inquiries and appointments at the front desk; 
Booking of meeting rooms and equipment;
Sorting and distributing incoming mail; processing outgoing mail items each afternoon in preparation for pick up each morning;
Preparing and maintaining program/department files relevant to the position, both hard copy and on computer as required;
Monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness as per current standards of practice;
Ensure entry/exit doors are unlocked and locked at the start and end of each business day;
Performs daily fire and health and safety checks for assigned work location;
Complete purchase orders for bus passes; 
Providing support to program areas as required and as approved by the direct reporting Manager;


Other duties as assigned by the Supports and Services Managers.

Community Participation Support Worker - Orillia

We are recruiting for a number of permanent full-time Community Participation Support Workers in Orillia. Utilizing a personal outcome based approach, support people in making informed choices that lead to successful inclusion and participation in community based recreational/leisure activities; work/volunteer placements. This position will be regularly scheduled up to 75 hours bi-weekly with a rate of pay of $21.89 per hour.  
 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB INCLUDE:

Degree or Diploma in developmental services or a closely related field;
One year recent work experience working in a community setting supporting the integration of people supported through outcome based approach
Valid class G driver's license and reliable transportation is required;
demonstrated knowledge of community resources; 
excellent written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated 

      experience in Microsoft office applications and database administration; 

good interpersonal skills;
current valid certificates in First Aid, C.P.R. and N.V.C.I.

OVERVIEW OF DUTIES: (not inclusive of all duties):

facilitate and support participation in meaningful community based activities which support individuals to develop skills utilizing community infrastructure such as transportation services to promote and develop leisure, recreational, employment and volunteer opportunities within the community;
participating in goal planning with people and attending individual planning meetings as requested and supporting people to attain their desired goals;
assisting people to maintain positive relationships and to facilitate independence in volunteer placements and competitive employment; providing job coaching as required;
facilitating positive involvement and interaction in the community, acting in a professional manner at all times and as a role model for people supported; 
supporting people to successfully transition from school;
providing personal hygiene supports as necessary; 

SPECIAL FACTORS

the needs of this program require flexibility as support needs are based on people's individual needs and community partner requirements as identified by the community partners;
will be required to work flexible hours which will include working evenings, weekends and public holidays;
regularly scheduled up to seventy five (75) hours averaged over a two (2) week period. Hours worked beyond the originally scheduled hours will be to address sudden unanticipated needs of individuals supported and to fill in for other employees who are absent;
a two (2) week schedule will be posted no later than fourteen (14) calendar days in advance of taking effect; 
when participants needs have changed between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, the employee will return to 4 King Street. Any scheduled hours outside of the above where the participant does not require support, the employee will contact the Supervisor/Manager and they will advise where the CPSW will be  redeployed within the accommodations program (group living and Supported Independent Living);
employer shall endeavour to arrange schedules so as to provide that no CPSW employee is scheduled to work more than every other weekend. If that is not operationally possible or during times of increased needs of individuals and community partners, the Employer will arrange schedules to provide that no employee is scheduled to work more than two (2) consecutive weekends;
this is a unionized position.

This position will be responsible for the preparation of financial reporting for the Board and funders of the Agency, financial analysis, projection and budget preparation. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position will be responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating financial projects to create efficiencies for the Finance department and across the Agency. This position works up to 37.5 hours per week, with a wage rate of $32.04 per hour. 
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB INCLUDE:
A post secondary degree or diploma in business, finance, accounting or a related field. A professional accounting designation (CPA, CA/CMA/CGA) or enrolment in the program is an asset;
Minimum of 5 years related experience, preferably in a non-profit sector;
