Empower Simcoe supports fifteen children in four different locations. This option is available in Barrie only. Each location has support staff working hours throughout the day and overnight when the children are present. Children attend neighbourhood schools and participate in community activities appropriate for their age. Families are encouraged to participate in all aspects of their child’s life.
Criteria for service:
- Under 18
- Has an intellectual disability
- May also have a physical disability in addition to the intellectual disability

Children’s accommodation supports are governed by the Child and Family Services ACT and are funded and licensed by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services.
