“The Rotary Club of Barrie Huronia had the pleasure of touring Empower Simcoe’s Lakeshore Ridge Residence. Our $50,000 commitment supports this very worthwhile residential option providing wonderful supports for transition into community life. The state of the art home means success for so many individuals that historically may not have had the opportunity. Well done Empower Simcoe” says Sheri Maynard, President of the Rotary Club of Barrie Huronia.

“In partnership with the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, and MacKenzie Health, Lakeshore Ridge, along with the support of the Rotary Club of Barrie Huronia, is a tangible reminder of our mission to empower people to lead a meaningful and inclusive life by providing the highest quality of services” says Empower Simcoe Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Claudine Cousins.

“Individuals with developmental disabilities deserve the right to fully participate in their communities and live fulfilling lives,” says Empower Simcoe President and Foundation Board member, Valerie Scott. “Thank you to the Rotary Club of Barrie Huronia for joining us on this journey.”

Giving back makes me feel that I’m contributing a little bit to making life better for other people. It’s my small contribution. I want to make life a little bit easier and happier for people, to know they are loved and cared about and are important.
